Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 2, 2026

Hope and Verse is a small site where you can find prayers and Bible verses for the moments you’re walking through. When you come here to pray, you should be able to trust that we’re treating your information with care. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it.

The Short Version

We don’t run display ads, we don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with anyone for advertising. You can read every page on this site without giving us your name or email. The only time we ask for personal information is when you choose to sign up for a free printable or our email list, or leave a comment.

What We Collect

When you sign up for a freebie or our emails

If you sign up for our free prayer journal or our email list, we collect your first name (if you share it) and your email address. We use them to send you the freebie you asked for and occasional emails with new prayers and verses. Our emails are sent through Kit, which stores your sign-up information for us and tells us whether an email was opened or a link was clicked so we know what’s helpful. You can read Kit’s privacy policy here.

When you visit the site

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see simple totals, such as how many people visited a page, which country they visited from, and what kind of browser they used. Cloudflare says this tool doesn’t use cookies to track you and doesn’t build a profile of you across visits or websites. You can read Cloudflare’s privacy policy here.

Like every website, our host’s servers keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses and browser types, to keep the site secure and running well. We don’t use these logs to identify you.

When you contact us

If you write to us, we keep your message and email address so we can reply. We won’t add you to our email list unless you ask us to.

When you leave a comment

If you leave a comment, we collect your name, email address, and comment text, along with your IP address, to help prevent spam. Your email address is never shown publicly. Your name and comment appear on the page. Your first comment waits for approval before it appears.

Cookies

Hope and Verse doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics tool doesn’t rely on cookies either. Other websites we link to, such as Amazon and Pinterest, may set their own cookies once you click through to them, and their own privacy policies apply there.

Links to Amazon and Other Sites

Some pages recommend Bibles, devotionals, and prayer journals with links to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, Hope and Verse earns from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. When you click one of these links, Amazon may place a cookie in your browser so it knows the visit came from us. That cookie is set and controlled by Amazon, and you can read Amazon’s privacy notice here. You can read more on our Affiliate Disclosure page.

Our images have a Save button for Pinterest. Nothing is sent to Pinterest unless you tap it, and once you do, Pinterest’s own privacy policy applies.

Who Helps Us Run the Site

A few trusted services help keep Hope and Verse running: our web host, Cloudflare for security and simple visit counts, and Kit for email. They handle information only to provide those services to us. We don’t sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone, and we never share it with advertisers.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your email address for as long as you’re subscribed. When you unsubscribe, you stop receiving our emails right away. If you’d like your information deleted completely, just ask and we’ll take care of it.

Your Choices

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and one click takes you off the list. You can also ask us at any time to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it.

Children

Hope and Verse is written for adults, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up for our emails, please let us know and we’ll delete their information.

Changes to This Policy

If we add a new service or change how we handle information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.

Questions

If you have a question about your information or this policy, please reach out through our Contact page, and we’ll get back to you.
